THE BOOK CLUB/LENDING PROCESS
RULES
Registration fee is N2,000
Membership fee is N10,000
Must be residents in Lagos.
Must have a Library card which is issued on personal attendance on the presentation of valid identification (International Passport, Driver’s License, National ID, Voters Card or Tax Payer’s ID).
Library cards are personal and not transferable to anyone else.
Users are responsible for ensuring that details of address, telephone number and e-mail address are always correct.
The loss of your library card must be reported to the library as soon as possible to prevent abuse.
Replacement of membership ID is N1,000
BORROWING
Lending are automatically renewed if there is no waiting list
Lending periods:
- Two weeks is the normal lending period
External users can borrow maximum of 1 book at a time
Items you have borrowed are not transferable to another person. You are responsible for all items listed on your library record
Lending cannot be renewed if there is a waiting list
WHEN THE LENDING PERIOD IS UP
You will receive a reminder on the date the loan is due
After two days you will receive a second reminder informing you that this is the last reminder before you will receive a compensation claim. You will not be allowed to borrow any material till the claim is sorted out
After four days you pay a fine of N1,000
Accumulated fines of N5, 000 or more will result in the suspension of borrowing rights until all fines and administrative fees are paid.
LOST OR DAMAGE BOOKS
The user is responsible for returning the book in the same condition in which it was received. If a book is lost or damaged, the full fine for replacement must be paid. You will also be charged with an administrative fee of N500. If the book is returned after the claim is sent out, the administrative fee must still be paid.
The replacement fee is to be decided based on the book value. The fine would be waived, if the user purchases the exact book for the library.
